RULES

Court is 60 ft. by 30 ft. Each teams court is divided in half.

A 6 lbs., 10-inch medicine ball and 8 ft. volleyball net are used. Women use a 4 lbs. ball.

Teams consist of 5 players, maximum of 3 on the court at any time.

Scoring traditionally follows tennis rules. Each match will be the best of 5 games.

The ball is served from the back line.

All players will serve in a round robin style.

The ball must be caught on the fly and immediately returned from the point it was caught. There is no running, hopping, or skipping with the ball prior to returning the volley.

Males cannot pass.

A ball caught in the front court must be returned to the back court; this is to prevent spiking or dunking. If the ball doesn’t reach the back court, the opponent is awarded the point. The mid-line is part of the front court.

A ball caught/attempted to catch must be played.

A ball that hits the out of bounds line is a good return.

A player that catches the ball out of bounds or is carried out of bounds by the force of the ball may return in-bounds before the return.

A ball that hits the net on its way over is a live ball but must be returned to the appropriate part of the court.

Teams may substitute freely at dead ball situations

Teams will referee and keep score of their own game. Integrity is a must. A point or return in question is played over. The game should not be influence by spectators.

Good sportsmanship from players and fans is required.
Women’s Rules

Women serve from the mid-line.

Women may pass once before a return.

Women may return the ball to any area of the opponent’s court.
